Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
