The families of teens lost after a tragic blaze at a venue in a Swiss alpine town are confronting an excruciating period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for any details about their family members via social media.

The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Verified images depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and wounded another 119.
