The Reform UK leader Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
