Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their honor.
Presidential Invitation
The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”
Community Reaction
Attendees gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.
Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to assist public safety in the capital.
Honoring Sarah Beckstrom
“Sarah was the individual that instructors desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to help others.”
Funeral arrangements for Sarah are in the process of planning.
Legal Actions and Policy Adjustments

The incident led the administration to suspend asylum processing and cease providing visas to holders of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the AP.
He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on a news program.
Attorney general Bondi informed the program that she planned to visit the family.
Impact of Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
