Barça Set to Play Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
